In this video, I’m going to show you some stretches for every day back and neck pain.
First, start off laying on your back. When you are laying on your back there is less pressure/stress on the disc.
You can do these four stretches before you get out of bed in the morning; first, both knees to the side, second knees to the chest, third a stretch for the gluts/piriformis/sciatica and a fourth one to help the muscles stabilize the back.
Next, I go over a range of motion stretches flexion, extension, lateral bend to left & right, and rotation from left to right.
Next are hamstring stretches because they go in hand in hand with the low back being tight.
Then I’m doing a quadriceps/psoas stretch. I have another stretch for the low back sitting on the floor. Then I go to the neck and do a range of motion stretching.
Last, I do an exercise to help forward head posture where you stick your head out then bring it straight back and hold it for 2 seconds then go back into extension.
Do each stretch for approximately 30 seconds.
I hope this helps with some of your everyday aches and pains. If you have any questions or need some additional help with the pain that you’re experiencing please give us a call at 801.471.4962. Aldridge Family Chiropractic
